Letters From the In-Between: what if you always were enough?

  • Jun 9

"But now, I'll rise and reclaim my thought,

Honoring the essence of all I've sought.

For in this journey, one truth is rare:

My worth is mine, beyond compare."

— Trapped no More, Aligned

When will I finally be enough?

When I have more money?

When my body looks different?

When my podcast is bigger?

When I stop making mistakes?

When I become the version of me I keep chasing?

What exactly am I trying to earn?

Love?

Worth?

Approval?

A sense that I finally deserve to take up space?

And from who?

From myself?

Or from others?

What if the finish line doesn't exist?

What if every time I reach it, I simply move it?

What if the problem isn't that I haven't arrived...but that I've been running toward the wrong destination?

I know how hard you've been trying.

I know how much pressure you put on yourself.

Not because you're lazy.

Not because you're failing.

Not because you're not doing enough.

But because somewhere along the way, you started believing that your worth lived on the other side of achievement.

That one day, if you healed enough, earned enough, accomplished enough, fixed enough, improved enough...

you would finally feel at peace.

You would finally feel proud.

You would finally feel enough.

And I understand why.

The world rewards achievement.

It celebrates success.

It admires productivity.

It measures people by titles, numbers, appearances, followers, possessions, and accomplishments.

Without even realizing it, most of us absorb the same message:

Become more.

Do more.

Have more.

Then you'll be enough.

So you spend years chasing the next milestone.

The next goal.

The next version of yourself.

Convinced that somewhere ahead of you there is a place where you will finally arrive.

A place where you can finally relax.

A place where nothing else needs fixing.

A place where you can finally say:

"There. Now I'm enough."

But there is something I wish you knew sooner.

The finish line keeps moving.

Because the voice that believes it is not enough is never satisfied by more.

More money gives it another target.

More success gives it another target.

A better body gives it another target.

A bigger dream gives it another target.

And before you know it, you've spent years trying to earn something that was never missing.

Your worth.

I want you to hear this carefully.

Your goals can change your life.

They can expand you.

Challenge you.

Inspire you.

But they can never increase your value.

Because your value was never dependent on them.

You do not become more worthy when you succeed.

You do not become less worthy when you fail.

You do not become more lovable because you get everything right.

And you do not become less lovable because you make mistakes.

You are human.

You will lose your patience sometimes.

You will say the wrong thing.

You will make choices you later wish you had made differently.

You will continue learning.

You will continue growing.

That is not evidence that you are failing.

That is evidence that you are alive.

I know there are moments when you look at your life and immediately notice what is still missing.

The money that isn't there yet.

The goal you haven't reached yet.

The area where you still need to grow.

The mistake you made today.

The thing you wish you had done better.

But I wish you could see what I see.

I see a woman who keeps showing up.

A woman who questions herself not because she is broken, but because she genuinely wants to love better.

I see a mother who cares deeply.

A woman who has healed wounds she once thought would follow her forever.

A woman who has broken patterns that existed long before she arrived.

A woman who has grown in ways she barely stops to acknowledge.

I wish you would spend less time measuring how far you still have to go...

and more time honoring how far you have already come.

Because the woman you are becoming is not waiting for you at the finish line.

She is being built in every imperfect step you take today.

So stop asking yourself when you will finally be enough.

And consider a different possibility.

What if you always were?

What if there was never anything to earn?

What if the life you are building was never meant to prove your worth...

but simply express it?

What I Know Now

  • Achievement can change your circumstances, but it cannot determine your worth.

  • The finish line keeps moving when we use goals to prove our value.

  • Growth is not evidence that you were incomplete. Growth is what naturally happens when life is fully lived.

Carry This With You

I do not have to earn what has always belonged to me.

Before You Go...

What would change in your life if you truly believed you were already enough?
